Call for Papers 

This year we have the following two separate submission opportunities.

*Important to note: to ensure we are able to finalise the programme in time to apply for CPD accreditation from the Royal College of Physicians, the submission deadline is 12 January 2026

1. Oral Submissions

These are invited on a variety of topics that, if selected, will shape the programme as you orally present your abstract in a 15-minute slot to include time for any questions.

2. Shark Tank Submissions

New this year, the BMLA invites visionary researchers, clinicians, healthcare professionals, post graduate students, and trainees (at any carer level) to pitch their most cutting edge research or innovative ideas in laser and light-based technology. Whether it’s a breakthrough in therapy, diagnostics, or service delivery — this is your chance to make your mark!

The winning pitch will receive a £500 cash prize, have the opportunity to showcase the project on the BMLA website and membership platform and receive free attendance of the 2027 BMLA Conference. 

The winner will be announced at the Supper & Social on the Thursday evening.
