In this discussion-based workshop, Alex Spencer (University of Nottingham) explores the concept of Gemba and shares how her team are using Gemba to ensure 'active looking' of scenarios and environments. A fun and light-hearted look at what we really see, participants will leave having expanded their idea of what Gemba could include, ready to put that into action and support others to do so too.

As Associate Director of Getting in Shape, I lead a team of twelve Lean practitioners to streamline processes and boost efficiency at the University of Nottingham. I transitioned from the service sector to HE three years ago and am an active member in the LeanHE England and Wales steering group.
