Dr Tania Lyon explores the evolution and future of Lean in this thought provoking session. Sharing the findings of an extensive listening tour of Lean and healthcare conferences of the US, our host offers original ideas and responses to the question: Why is Lean so hard to plant, grow and spread? The session explores system theory and organisational structure, responds to questions raised around the benefits and relevance of Lean and offers an alternative approach to Lean, encouraging discussion of these ideas with attendees.

Dr. Lyon brings 20 plus years of experience in organizational transformation, performance improvement, leadership development, and education to the table. She has spent the last 16 years as the Director of Organizational Performance Improvement for a hospital and teaches a lean course at the University of Pittsburgh. She earned her PhD in Sociology from Princeton University and her BA from U.C. Berkeley.
