Life after Hanwell: options, ideas, support
11:05 AM - 12:25 PMAbstract
After the news that Hanwell, one of the biggest environmental monitoring software and hardware suppliers in heritage in the UK, announced they would no longer be serving their customers, many institutions were shocked. What do we do now? Join us in this panel session to find out how a few archives are handling this change, learn about the many environmental monitoring system options, and bring your own ideas and solutions to share in an open discussion.
Biography
I am a conservator with over 10 years of experience in a variety of settings including private practice, museums, and archives. I enjoy wearing the many hats a conservator must wear; detailed bench work, managing big complex projects, preventive routines, teaching, research and experimentation, advising and persuading budget holders etc. I hold a Masters of Arts degree in Preventive Conservation and a Master of Science degree in Information Studies as well as a Bachelor of Fine Arts.
